Merry-K Moos

Merry-K. Moos, RN, FNP, MPH is a Research Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, an Adjunct Professor in the Schools of Public Health and Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is the Perinatal Outreach Educator and Coordinator for Hospitals and she is a creator of the North Carolina Women’s Health Training Collaborative. The Collaborative is responsible for preparing nurses in local health departments throughout the state to assume enhanced nursing functions in the care of prenatal and contracepting women. Through this program, now in its sixth year, she has become widely identified by public health nurses as a role model and practice expert. Ms Moos is also director of the Women’s Health Information Center at UNC Hospitals. Clinically, Ms. Moos has been an advanced practice nurse (FNP) for more than 25 years. She directs the University of North Carolina Hospitals’ Teenage Pregnancy and Prevention Clinic and oversees coordination of obstetrical services between seventeen public clinics and the University of North Carolina’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She loves to travel the world, paint with water colors and drive with the top down on her sassy white Mustang convertible—(only middle age can explain that impractical but very fun purchase!)
